Chapter 27

1 JOTHAM was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.

2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah had done; howbeit he neglected to enter into the temple of the LORD, and the people were still corrupt.

3 He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD, and completed the wall and improved it.

4 Moreover he built cities in the land of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

5 He fought also with the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the Ammonites gave him that year a hundred talents of silver and ten thousand measures of wheat and ten thousand measures of barley. The Ammonites gave to him the same amount in the second year and in the third year.

6 So Jotham became mighty because he established his ways before the LORD his God.

7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham and all his wars and his ways, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

8 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

2 Und7843 tat, das dem HErrn3068 wohlgefiel, wie sein Vater1 Usia5818 getan6213 hatte6213, ohne daß er nicht in den Tempel1964 des HErrn3068 ging935, und das Volk5971 sich5869 noch verderbete.

3 Er1129 bauete das hohe Tor8179 am Hause1004 des HErrn3068, und5945 an der Mauer2346 Ophel6077 bauete er viel7230.

4 Und1129 bauete die Städte5892 auf dem Gebirge2022 Juda3063, und in den Wäldern2793 bauete er1129 Schlösser und Türme4026.

5 Und er2388 stritt3898 mit dem Könige4428 der Kinder1121 Ammon5984, und er ward8141 ihrer mächtig, daß2063 ihm die Kinder1121 Ammon5983 dasselbe Jahr8141 gaben5414 hundert3967 Zentner3603 Silbers3701, zehntausend6235 Kor3734 Weizen2406 und zehntausend6235 Gerste8184. So viel gaben7725 ihm die Kinder Ammon5983 auch im andern8145 und im dritten7992 Jahrs

6 Also ward Jotham3147 mächtig; denn er2388 richtete3559 seine Wege1870 vor6440 dem HErrn3068, seinem GOtt430.

7 Was aber mehr von Jotham3147 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alle seine Streite4421 und seine Wege1870, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben im Buch5612 der Könige4428 Israels3478 und Judas.

8 Fünfundzwanzig2568 Jahre8141 alt1121 war er, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete sechzehn Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389.
